Glen Magna Farms survives unrivaled as an estate exemplifying historic North Shore summer living. It typifies the golden age of American Gardens when eclecticism and historicism dominated landscape as well as architecture.
The award-winning landscape includes formal gardens massed with colorful perennials, annuals and shrubbery. The Old Fashioned Garden is anchored by a reproduction of the original Gazebo designed by Francis Peabody in 1840. The Wisteria-covered Pergola transports guests toward the Derby Summer House, a National Historic Landmark, and into the Rose Garden which blooms in early summer with hundreds of heirloom roses. Classical Statuary, fountains, sweeping lawns and winding pathways further enhance the exquisitely restored and manicured grounds.
Located less than one mile from Routes 1 and 95, Glen Magna Farms is an ideal tour destination. Tours of the mansion and gardens can be completed in less than 1.5 hours. Many groups incorporate our property into their tours to attractions on the North Shore.
We offer two tour packages:
The Estate package includes: A tour of the gardens and mansion guided by our grounds and restoration manager followed by a boxed lunch. Lunch includes choice of sandwich from a special menu, chips, cookie and a beverage choice of water, ice tea or lemonade. You may elect to take your lunch with you or enjoy it here at Glen Magna Farms. Cost $30.00 pp. 10 person minimum.
